Saaketh M. Medepalli

👋🏽 Welcome to my website! My name is Saaketh and I’m an MS in Machine Learning student at Carnegie Mellon University, working in Prof. Leila Wehbe’s group. I’m interested in building human-aligned AI systems that deeply understand and bring positive value to the world around us.

Currently, I’m working on understanding how language is understood and aligned across the brain and in large language models (LLMs). This broadly covers the fields of cognitive neuroscience, mechanistic interpretability, and representational alignment.

In the past, I worked on research in different areas related to this question, including neuromorphic engineering, computational neuroscience and representation learning as an undergrad.

In my free time, I enjoy fitness (🏋🏾/🎾/🏏), cooking 🥘, and playing Carnatic flute 🪈. I also love a good book 📚 or TV show 📺 and exploring the outdoors 🏞️ when the opportunity arises.
